Plugging into the green jack or the one in the side works about the same. When plugged into the side, you have to put the switch to 6 Ch. Direct. In the green jack it shouldn't make any difference. Sounds like you've got everything working now.

Good Luck,

Gary

Man.. talk about volume... My ears are ringing now... @ Boost 11 my whole apartment was shaking... not bad for a tiny little system. However I still could play the Z-5500 @ Boost11, with every volume setting turned up, my DGX on full blast, and I could still drown out the sound with my 12" PA system, but that isn't a suprise really, I'm more suprised over the power of the Logitech! I've found that when I set it to MUSIC, the surround speakers(far left and right) played sounds with excessive delay, that didn't sound pretty, when I put it to Stereox2 I got a cleaner sound, however I lost the center channel... any workarounds for this? would love to get 2x stereo from the left and right speakers, and a center/mono mix from the center channel, because then the center could function as a monitor.. is that possible?

one more thing.. the Z-5500 looks like a small system on picture.. but it's actually a big and heavy mother.. the sub probably weighs in @ 30lbs++ any bags out there that fit this system?

I use a $16,95 computer carrying strip that I bought online from www.cyberguys.com for carrying the sub, and a $12 duffel bag from Target carries all the speakers, cables and remote reciever. Everything is attached to a plywood base with the aid of industrial strength Velcro.

I've never noticed a delay using the Pro-Logic II Music setting. Maybe this has something to do with the input you are using. Try plugging into the side of the reciever where you see the music note, and set the small switch on the back of the reciever to the upright position at 6 Ch. Direct.

Good Luck,

Gary

Hm I'll check out those bags, thanks!

As for the delay, I noticed it when I turned down the SUB and Center volume. It sounds like a 100% MIX reverb insert effect.. I used the jack input on the side, I haven't experimented with any other inputs. Switching the switch on the back didn't seem to have any effect at all... nothing significant anyways... Using the StereoX2 setting gets rid of the delay/reverb, but it also mutes the center channel...

Caught up on the posts here this A M

Sounds like you still don't have any volume.

What you describe mine does this with no boost and keybd vol turned a bit past 1 oclock.Just a measly blow out the windows setting.

I played around a bit with the z5500's, found setting the EQ volume was the way to go. (don't need to keep turning up the boost everytime you start up) the z5500 just barely gets warm, Its running in a sweet spot, you have the master keybd control to blast the joint if needed and if you have your speakers set up similar to Gary's I guarantee you, you can't stay in the same room with it if the volume is turned up and you hit the boost......Give the Z5500's something to amplify and it will amaze you. I run the sub on setting 3 any more and the walls start moving in and out.
