what do you think, is there a chance to find korgpa50 under 999USD any time soon? i believe with the new models coming out on market, the prices for the other should decrease a little bit... and do you know, do the internet sellers form america ship also in other countries, for instance romania? and for how much, i wonder...

Hello Adimatis, the Korg PA 50 is a new model(only a few months old), even is a replacement of the PA 60 minus couple features, and is made in China and that is the reason is in a much lower price of the antecesor PA 60(made in Italy), so I do not think is going to be replace any time soon, couple years perhaps....and as far goes buying over internet, first, I would check out if in europe is available, the shipping overseas is a killer, you probably pay as much for that, than for the keyboard.

thank you mdorantes, since i decided to buy a pa50, i would probably ask some of my friends in states to buy it and next time when he comes in romania to bring it with him. in here anyway i would pay like 1200 euro, and this is quite a difference i believe! hopefully there is no problem with custom services or something!
all the best !

Please....Warning!! something VERY important to consider.....the electric current that is use in United States is 117......in Europe is 220....you make sure you have a converter for the AC, other wise, you will fry the keyboard.

yes, it's true... accidents like that happens sometimes! but there is some kind of adapter, is the same size as the keyboard's adapter and is very good for all purposes. but i also could by an adapter separately from korg.
you know, i should be carefull anyway, since i want to buy all this stuff from america, the price is almost half, mixer, arranger, etc. already bought studio microphone and audio card...
after all, i am a pour guy!

best to you!

Adimatis,
check out german stores, they have PA50 at about 1000 Euros, including VAT.
You probably can't use a generic adapter with a US imported arranger. Also, some voltage converters introduce hum and noise.
ALSO, you will probably have to pay import taxes.

didn't you get my mail ???
as Guardman mentions quite correctly you can get it from Belgium at 820 euros, that is of course excluding the cost of shipment.
It will certainly be substantially cheaper than getting it from the States, I don't honestly understand why you would want to do that.
good luck
john

good thing about PA50 is it uses/comes with 12v adapter(like yam's KBs).not DC like it's previous models.so any solid 12v adapter with will do the job.No DC.no frying risks and no need to buy expensive converters.

another tip-buy the converter in US .(in US) 220 to 110 converter is always cheaper(10-17$) than 110 to 220(34$).(eg.in stores like radioshack etc).

it sounds funny, but is cheaper for me to ask someone from united states to buy these pieces of equipment from there and bring it in as a personal gift (which should be tax free at the custon service) than to buy it anywhere in europe and ask the company for shipping it to romania. if the prices goes down in europe, like guardman said, this can become an option, but not right now.
i could by the pa50 in here, today, at 1250 euro, which is about 1650 usd. compared with 999 at any web store, i can get a mixer, a mic and some other small change too... so, this is my logic...
and about adapter, if i could really use a normal 12 v adapetr, even better, these are less expencive than a korg original!
best to you!

Hello this is Atul
I agree to adimatis. I'm also thinking of buying a korg PA50 in india. It's for $999 only. I need some more info berofe actually buying it. Here it goes...
1] Can we assign any tone (e.g. strings, piano, etc..) to the assignable pads ? So that while performing live one can change it quickly.. This is really am imp feature for me. I didn't get clear idea about this feature even in the user manual which I downloaded from korg's site. Your help is highly appriciated.

For each style there are 4 single touch setting pads. Each pad can be a single or layered sound and would do exactly what you want to do. You could have piano on sts1, strings on sts2, piano and flute on sts3, etc. Also you can have I believe it's 128 performances created and if you turn off the style light button right next to the performance button, you can now change to any of the performances without changing the style.
The 4 assignable pads are not to play sounds on the keyboard but rather to just play a single sound like a special effect, etc. each time you play the pad. These pads are not intended to be buttons to change your sound played on the keys, the STS buttons (4) do this.

Hi Atul,
Which part of India are you situated in?????I am in mumbai and I am working as a Product Specialist for the Audio Plus ( Korg Distributors In India ).
Regarding your question the answer is you can assign the tones with all detalied settings like volume, pan,FX send etc. and save them in one of the four STS available for each style and even each STS can layer upto 3 sound above your split point and one lower sound to play along with the chord/accompniments.In case of futher quiry you can call me at my office nos.56916231/32 or call on my mobile 98201-68690.If you are in mumbai you can visit our full-fledge Demo room at andheri(East).Call up the office between 2-6 P.M.

i don t know how trusty is this buying second hand without seeing... isnt it a little bit risky? especially considering all the headaches when it comes about returning and so on... did you or would you buy this way? i would really think twice (or even more times ) doing that!

Also something else you should consider if you buy from the U.S. is the warranty will be null and void if shipped overseas. You will lose the manufacturer's 1 year parts and labor warranty on the PA50 if you do.

A chance you may be willing to take however since you will save a lot of money on the purchase price itself. Although I don't personally recommend it. For example, if you buy from the U.S. and something drastic goes wrong with the Pa50, such as it goes completely kaput or has some other major problem relatively soon after you get it, then unfortunately you are up a creek without a paddle so to speak. You have no recourse but to pay through the nose on expensive parts and labor to fix it.

So there are pros AND cons when purchasing a product such as the Pa50 from another Country overseas, etc. And you roll the dice, or more poignant - play a form of Russian roulette in the process.

Hopefully that single bullet will not be in the chamber when you pull the trigger, i.e. "make the purchase overseas and bring it to your country".... if you know what I mean. It could end up costing you double of what you originally intended to pay in the first place if the Pa50 goes belly up upon arrival or soon thereafter, or some other major problem(s) happens to it after you get it.

PS: I'm not trying to discourage you. I'm just trying to put things in perspective a bit. You are free to do what you want with your own money of course. And hope for the best..

Best regards,
Mike

thanks, that is something i was thinking about and i have to agree with you! i just hope for the best and that is nothing wrong with the instrument itself. i dont have many options anyway. i could buy this instrument from an authorized romanian store or whatever, and pay 1880 usd.
or i can take my chances and pay just 1000. as you can see, if i'd buy it in here is almost like paying twice anyway!
...you could pray for me though!

best to you!

adimatis,
the pa 50 is about 900E or lower if you search around on ebay shops.
Go to www.ebay.de
or www.ebay.co.uk
and do a search for "korg pa". It should come up with items like pa1x, or pa60 or pa50, etc.
Some of them are being sold by "ebay-shops", in germany or elsewhere. They are advertised as new.
Altrnatively search around on the net for germant music shops and you will get thomann.de or lindberg.de or others, with higher prices.
Germany is A LOT closer to Romania, the freight should be a lot less.

well, yestarday was one of my worst days! i just got informed is not possible to get the arranger from united states, due to the airtravel agency policy. it is too big. i think this will be the problems also next time when some friends from states will be coming over, so, i have to look more carefully what is the europen market possibilities... anyway, the cheapest i found yet is no less than 930 euro, without any shipping taxes...

that means 1200 usd...

any ideas?
