one last question before i make my keyboard purchase monday....

the keyboard im looking at getting the casio wk3000 only has one jack for line out/phones the wk3500 has a l/r jack for output and a phones jack....

my only use of the output jack would be fore headphones or to output to my speakers and i wouldnt need them both at the same time... by output to my speakers i would (on the 3000) get a good cable that spilts the 1/4 inch jack into two jacks for left and right and plug it into my surround sound just for fun... nothing for professional stage performances or anything... will splitting the one output sound good? or do i really need the sep l/r outputs???

any advice appreciated thanks

If it is a stereo jack and you get a stereo cable at the single end that splits to stereo L&R (like headphones do,) then you will get stereo, if not then you will get mono signals L&R.

Good advice from Terry above.
But keep in mind, using Line outputs produces a cleaner signal. Headphone output is a compromise because it will be going through another amplifier stage to enable it to drive headphones.
You will find the SM card storage on the
WK3500 very usful for instant loading of extra styles.

Graham,
The WK3000 also has the SM storage card as the WK3500. I do agree that line outs are cleaner in sound then the headphone jack. Plus, you use regular cables (a left and a right 1/4" mono plug for each, like standard guitar cables). On the WK3000 you must use a stereo insert cable. One 1/4" stereo Plug (looks like the end of a headphone jack with 2 rings around it rather than 1) and going to 2 seperate 1/4" or rca" left and right plugs depending on what kind of inputs you are using.

It will definitely be stereo. They all have been for years.
