Can I somehow convert a midi file, with the bass and drum/rhthym, to a style to be saved on my psr2100?

I've tried recording the midi on the psr, with no luck yet, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, just haven't figured it out. Even tho I pick the channels to record, it still comes up blank/no sound??

Yes.....You'll need a program called
EMC Styleworks Universal http://www.emc-software.de/taste/Html%20English/frames_e.htm

Its a great program to convert Midi Songs to styles...or convert most popular styles to your KB format...and much more.

Jill. EMC Style Works is very expensive and even after conversion a lot of tweaking is required.
Another option is STYLEMAKER which is FREE from the following link.
http://www.svpworld.com/psr_software.htm

STYLEMAKER
Greatly simplifies the creation of PSR styles from a midi song file, midi template or even editing an existing style file by taking care of the "housekeeping" including markers, unwanted events, section ordering and other sysex data. This program can also preserve or create a new CASM section and force notes to observe the correct scale/chord tone rules.

In my expereince stylemaker ( the freeware program generously made available by Michael P Bedesem ) is very easy to work with and gives good results. You'll need to have a software sequencer that stylemkaer can use to open up and work with your midi files.
