Terry, you need to edit your post and separate your name from the link, so it will show up as a link.
You can do that by clicking on the pencil icon.
I would like to hear your song

Terry, what a great, touching song! And also great music and vocal! If that is you singing, you are truly multi-talented.

Wow. A beautifully presented moving song. Professionally composed & produced, and 'beautifully' sung. I assume this was produced in a professional recording studio, with live instruments, and not on an arranger keyboard, or commerical backing tracks, right?

Terry, since you've decided to join us here on the SZ arranger keyboard forum, curious what arranger keyboard you play, and how you utilize it (if at all) in your music performances.

Many Thanks again for sharing with us your beautifully composed tune and equally moving vocal performance.

Scott

Everyone should visit Terry's website. A true talent, and a wonderfully-produced website.

Great song, vocal and sequence Terry!

Powerful stuff. Same kind of genre as 'Through The Eyes Of An Irishman' and 'The Town I Loved So Well'... the kind of moving songs that go down really well at gigs.

Do you have a Roland E-86 (or successor)? I hear the classic SC-55 tone map.

Thanks for posting,
Rich

Great job. Very professional from every aspect....tracking, mixing, and mastering (was it mastered?). The song structure was simple but musically solid, as befits this genre'. The lyrics were very good and the vocal performance was excellent. This tune is pretty much "radio ready". I'd like to hear details on the production (pro studio, home or project studio, vocal mic, outboard gear and desk if home studio, etc.

thanks,

chas

Terry are you looking for a promoter/manager? I did discover you, remember?

Seriously, another awesome recording. Although my favorite is still "Release Me", this one is right up there with all of your recordings.

Thanks
Larry

Great song. Really like the song on your homepage as well (more I admit).

Are you using a Casio keyboard?

I would have thought that the climax at 1:45 could have had some more punch or bass? Maybe the piano or brass should be imitating the snares driving rhythm.

Thanks for sharing a great track,

Zalman

Many thanks for all the kind words.Don,yes that is me singing.Fran as a matter of fact I have blue eyes too,and Donny I am very Familiar with Dominic Kirwin. He records for Ritz records which is a company formally called release records in Ireland,of which I was either the first or second person to record for them.Tony Kenny and I go back to the sixties when we were both the frontmen for uor respective bands. To Rich I would like to post my version of Through the eyes of an Irishman,It was the title of my first Irish CD.Once again thank you all for your kind words,I have just come in from a gig and you have made my whole day.Terry
Scott the song was done on an Edirol sc8820 with cakewalk, for the backing. The sequence was recorded then to my Roland vs880 on which I also did the vocals.I did the mix in the vs880 and rendered to mp3 in Cool edit le. I have had a kork Pa80,a Yamaha 2000, but currently I have Fatar midi controller and a midjay.I do not play keyboards very well so the arranger function is godsend for me.I do quite a bit of acoustic material with my guitar, but for the most part I have to rely on good old midi.I have always been a vocalist primarily, and am in awe of some of the talent that is displayed on this forum.
I have actually been on the forum for a number of years.I had a different sign in name before the sight went down a while back and I had to re register.I have gotten some wonderful help from Synthzone and it's the first thing I read every time I turn the computer on. http://s62.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3JA0B1SKAC4SP0JGY4XINM9I0C

Terry,

Just another great recording, although I don't think you need the extra echo (sustain). It seems your natural voice needs very little help.

I enjoy your songs very much. Keep 'em comming! (I'd make a good promoter/manager)

Have you signed the Synth Zone Frapper Map ?

Larry

Yes Donny, for years I thought that the roland /edirol modules were the only way to go for midi, but the Midjay sound engine is great. The Midjay sounds wonderful through my bose pas.The Edirol sc8820 is a fantastic module for it's small size and sound when used with a laptop.
