Yeah, saw that. I wonder if its for real or a rip? If you notice he changed his user name. I wonder if that means previous feedbacks are now not available or what?

I sent him an email and will wait for his response. He has (43 total) 93.9% favorable feedback. He has changed his User ID within the last 30 days which is a little suspicious. Although Sellers do that, sometimes frequently especially if they are selling different 'Type' stuff from their usual flair. On the negative aspect, his account (the original User) could have been hijacked or "stolen" by this guy and he's trying to rip some unsuspecting person off. Thieves are very clever in their ability to fool people, going to great lengths to cover the whole thing up and make it look legit. If it is a scam, he'll be gone without a trace and Ebay's staff and security personnel will probably never know the difference and this guy will be $1,400 richer. But if it is legit, then the person that wins the auction will have a new Tyros at half the Price of a retail one. Let's hope it's the latter of the two.

Best regards,
Mike

I had a look and 2 things....$1000.00 less new in the box than it can be bought for anywhere else....I DOUBT IT.

Secondly, if you look at his feedback, they all seem to me to be about him buying from someone else, not people buying from him.

I recall that there was a Tyros for sale on eBay last year before they had been released by Yamaha. The seller was willing to take an escrow payment (in theory: you get the keyboard and the escrow company releases the funds after you approve). It turned out that the so-called seller wanted you to use his specific escrow company, which was a phony front for himself - a ripoff attempt.

Very suspicious! For $1400, it's probably worth $1400 for whatever that thing is.

The price is well below market value for a "new" product, there is no actual picture of the item up for auction, the seller apparently has no feedback from selling only buying, the seller has never left a single feedback for anyone who has left feedback for them, the seller has had no activity on Ebay since 2000, they have no AOL profile for the AOL e-mail address provided, they have recently changed their Ebay user ID, and they'll only accept a money order or cashiers check for payment. While the auction may be legitimate there are way too many red flags to give any reasonable person a true sense of security with this purchase. I won't be shocked if the person who wins the auction ends up losing their money to a scam. If not they got a great deal and we were all over analyzing the auction.

The Tyros auction has subsequently vanished from Ebay and now shows up as "invalid." Either the seller removed the item or Ebay did but I'll guess Ebay removed it due to its questionable nature.
