This just in:

You need to get the second woofer. It makes a world of difference in the modern dance music. There is plenty of volume and clarity in the midrange and high range, but you really need the extra punch from a second bass cabinet. You can use the line out and feed the bass amp of your choosing,k but these babies are so small and EZ to stack - for the extra $3bills..... go for the 100% Bose setup. It's a joy to transport. A joy to listen to, and a real kick to look at.

I made one more observation - if I were a full time DJ, I'd have a double stack for stereo and wider spread. There is NO PROBLEM filling a room with sound, but there will be more "presence" on the dance floor with a dual stack. Not neccisary for volume - just for close up "thump factor" It also adds to the visual image. What's another $2300 anyway?
(yikes)

"What's another $2300 anyway?"

It's only 10% of the price of a new van.
You gotta have your priorities right.
Go for it UD!

UD. Interesting comments you make about the Bose system because the generally normal Satellites + Subass are mostly all top & bottom with a lack of middle response,
You have not mentioned a lack of middle body in the sound. Am I correct. ????

The Bose speaker systems are also expensive here in the UK.

There's plenty of mids and highs. The bass is even fine for most listening levels. Very smooth and balanced, but to make people dance (especially those of us that NEED motivation) you gotta FEEL the bass. When the bass makes your tummy rumble, then your feet move all by themselves !

At that price, do they come with cases or covers?

Dave,

Do you think this setup would do well doing keyboards with 4 other musicians - drums, bass, guitar, and sax?

Would I get drowned out by the guitar amps, bass amps, and PA?

I have to admit, this looks really, really cool! And the thought of not having to carry around bulky speakers and amps is quite intoxicating, not to mention the ambience factor.

Al

Did you also purchase two of these? How does it sound in stereo with both a single, then a double?
