Any one know of software that slows a CD down. I want to slow Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin and Stan Getz down to catch some more licks.

Thanks

hi Boo,

Here are two other 'music slowdown' software options to consider. Both include free downloadable demos. I've used SlowGold and find it works well.

SlowBlast: $19.95
SlowGold: $49.95

Remember records? You could just put your thumb on it and slow it down. Or put it on a slower speed.

...yes, but then the pitch will vary as well!
A good alternative is to find one of those fakebooks with transcriptions of famous songs or solos...or a midifile with a good version of the same song...which you could slow WAY down without affecting the pitch!

Hi Brickboo,

Here's something that looks like the answer to your question

Should do the trick, eh?

Aaaahhhh, that is why I purchased the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox 3. With it's EAX feature, I can slow down MP3 playback without changing the pitch of the song. Great for transcribing music, solos, riffs, and lyrics.

Check it out next time your in the market for an MP3 player. That feature alone made me buy the Nomad instead of the iPod.

I have the trial copy of Amazing Slowdowner.
It does CDs, MP3,s and Wav. files. The free copy only does the first 2 tracks of the CD. For $39 it does everything. I'm just making sure there isn't something better for under $50.
Thanks for all the help again,
Boo

I'm gonna get it.
