Do you know the songs "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel and "Feel Like Making Love" by Roberta Flack? Would thos be sort of a montuno rhythm or does anyone know what the name for what those rhythms are in those songs? I play with these drummers who are so young they don't even know the songs and I am always at a loss for telling them what rhythm to play. I end up telling them light samba on the Flack tune and bossa on the Joel tune. Someone suggested they may be a montuno. Anyone have an mp3 of some montuno music I could compare?

For the Roberta Flack number I use a Pop Bossanova style on the 3000 with a tempo of 135 and the first variation. I imagine it would also be pretty good for the Billy Joel number as well.
