If you receive a mail called "invitation", though sent by a

This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc,

Don..nope I trusted the person that sent it to me...checked, but she probably just forwarded to me like I posted here....Maybe when I got an email that said "invitation" ..it was really Donny inviting me to his party

this came in on my email list from a friend also and it said it had been checked at Snopes but they LIED. I checked it and sent them the Snopes page in full.
Because I handle usually over 100 emails a day for my various email lists, I have come to a point where I can usually recognize a hoax, fraud, virus, phish, etc just by looking at the cover.
It goes on and on because it is now a fact of life so be careful the next one may be a real VIRUS.
Best to all,
Bill

I haven't seen a virus yet that erases the hard drive. The bigger threat today is malicious software that can infect your computer. The great danger is key logging software that can log every keystroke you make including bank account numbers and passwords. In comparison erasing a hard drive although a major pain in the butt is not as bad as someone stealing personal information.
