Where can I get 64 meg simms that will work with E-mu samplers? I have the ESI-4000. E-mu won't answer my emails. Thanks

I don't know where you're posting from, but if you're in Europe/UK, try a company called.......Americanino (01483 770888)......They are memory suppliers for most MI machines.

Alternatively, you need 72pin, preferably non EDO, 60ns or faster, parity or non parity, 8 or 9 bits, and they don't read 8Mb or 32Mb simms.

good luck

You can get simms from Staples, Fry's Electronics, CompUSA, and PC Club for starters. If you're not near a chain, then there are hundreds of places online. computershopper.com is a start.

I'm sorry I don't know about the memory, except what Jason said, online stores might have'em.
I'd like to get a few user comments on ESI-4000 'cause I'm looking for a sampler and there's a couple of ESI's left at a local retailer... Can someone compare A3000, some Akais and ESI-4000? Is there some other good ones worth considering?

Thanks!

The memory for the ESI-4000 is harder to find than I thought. I purchased memory a few times without success. It just didn't work the way it was supposed to. The ESI wasn't seeing the whole memory amount or it just didn't work at all. Maybe I just had some bad luck. As a last resort, I went to Sweetwater Sound. They helped me upgrade to a full 128 Meg. (Be sure to request low profile Simms if you want room to install the effects board). Most people just throw in a couple of 16 MB simms. Let me tell you...having 128 MB of memory in my sampler has completely changed the way I make music. If you can ever possibly afford to max it out, you should do so. It's like having a 64 track recorder with full cut drag and paste.
