As some of you know one of the speakers on my Logitech z2200s went south on me. For people like Don and Eddie south is a BAD thing.

I called Logitech and they sent me a completely new system. They even paid the shipping. What a great company!

There is a chain of stores in our area called ABC Warehouse. They supposedly sell at warehouse prices. ABC Warehouse was advertising a pair of Dual LU43PB speakers for 16 dollars. I bought them. These are supposedly 3 way speakers. They do contain a 4 inch "woofer" instead of the 3 inch speaker that is in the Logitech satellite. I hooked them into the Logitech sub and gave them a drive. I think they sound a little better than the stock Logitechs.

The sound is still very crisp and clear but I think there might be a bit more midrange.
I used them last night at an assisted care place. Everyone remarked at how good my vocals and Tyros sounded.

I got 75 bucks for a one hour performance plus my whole PA system fits in a large gym bag. I like things like this.

That would be a worthwhile improvement. I have the 2200s and midrange is what's somewhat lacking. Volume about the same?

Glenn,

I really didn't push the speakers to their limits so I honestly don't know. They seemed to be as loud. There were 80 people there last night and I had the volume set pretty low and still I had no trouble covering the crowd.

Tom,

That is a great company, but I thought Logitech no longer makes the z2200. Did they send you the z2300 as a replacement? Is there a difference?

Also, I think the LU43PB speakers are indoor/outdoor so you can play anywhere, even down south.

Thanks for the info.

The Spec sheet(.pdf) for the Dual LU43PB speakers: http://www.abcwarehouse.com/product_specs/25441_spec.pdf

Also, ABC Warehouse has an online store: http://www.abcwarehouse.com/product_catalog/pc_prodsbyprice.asp?assort%5Fid=1265&active%5Ftab=Online+Store&mscsid=2GDSKVRB1AMX9HFH8R6C6LLL74DM42KE

Ironically, after playing more than 50 jobs with the Z-5500 system, it crashed on me this past Tuesday. I was able to get through the hour using just the PSR-3000's internal speakers and the crowd loved it. I called Logitech as soon as I returned home and within 5 minutes they had a new system on it's way to me. I asked where they wanted the dead system to be sent and they said keep it for parts, or dispose of it in a proper manner. What an incredible company. The irony of this is I recently purchased a Motion Sound KP-100 for a backup, and because I would be leaving on the Mexico trip this evening, I decided to take the Motion Sound out of my van. Go figure!

Cheers,

Gary

Gary:

SO you got more speakers for your project.

I took all the guts out of the old sub, and added a new back with a I/4 phone jack, made a nice ext speaker.......Pose

Tom,

Is there any noticable difference in the z2300 compared to the z2200?

Just wondering.

Larry,

I haven't even unboxed the 2300s yet so I really don't know. As long as this combination seems to be working well I won't be unboxing the 2300s for quite a while.
