Just imagine I'm always talking about being a tenor sax man, right?

So one of you guys email me and ask for the chords to Yakety Sax, Night Train, Honky Tonk or Harlem Nocturn and I write back and say I don't do any of those tunes. You'd never be convinced I play sax, right?

Well dig this! I emailed DonM to get the lyrics to, "Turn the World around The Other Way" and "What's He doing In My World" and guess what he writes back. Boo, I don't do those tunes.

When I played with him in Shreveport I remember he did do a lot of rock & roll. I thought he was doing that to help me out. He even played in Eb, Bb, F, G and such keys. We only did one tune in D. I just played some riffs on that one and a simple solo.

Maybe he really doesn't do country. Can anyone here vouch that he does indeed do country?
Anxious for comments,
Boo

Don, I'm sorry man. Please forgive me. I know I told you I wouldn't say anything about this on the forum. With all of the religious talk here lately, I guess the devil made me do it. Please forgive, heh?

I'm going in a few minutes down to my favorite fishing hole. Why don't you come up and I'll take you there and we can be friends again. Don't forget, Penny and I are also friends with Susan and the boys. I didn't mean to do this. I just lost all self control.

Boo, I just played in those strange keys because some of my "regular" keys are not good sax keys.
Strangely enough, there are only three country songs I don't do, and you asked about two of them! (Thanks, Eddie).
Even though I have the reputation for being "country" I have a pretty wide repertoire. However, I just looked at the top 500 Country songs of all time list, and find I do 270 of them.
I did find the words to your songs in a book, but I'll have to scan or type them for you, if you haven't already found them.
Catch a fish for me, I'm off to catch a few "suckers" at the Supper Club.

Boo,

I'm shocked that you're going fishin' at a secret fishin' hole. Shame on you for not sharing that secret spot with the good folks on the forum. You would think the entire world was looking at this board to find out where you fished. I would't tell anyone! (Might make it a front-page healine in the Washington Post though!)

And, Don Mason is definitely a good-old country boy. The big difference between where he fishes and where you fish is he has to watch out for the gators, while you have to keep and eye out for the sharks. Both, however, are a lot of fun on light spinning gear. There are a lot of country boys on this forum, including me. Take a listen to The Devil Went Down To Georgia at http://www.bcpl.net/~keyboard/mp3s.htm but don't tell anyone that I sang it.

Hope everything's getting better for you,

Gary

Don,

You're too easy going. That means I'm gonna stop by again. I want to try to do a blues in E or A. If I screw up, you can set the growl sax and cover for me. Beings you've taken no offense. I still need the lyrics.

Tony, no secret spot just private owners but I can take you, Don or anyone esle that's out in western colorado. Tony I need the lyrics for those two tunes still. I couldn't find them on Cowpie. I was shocked when I found that out also.

Tony, that's an excellent job on that tune. My rednecked brother-in-law from Laurel Mississippi made me listen to that tune years ago when it came out. My son and his buddy when 12 years old helped me on a brick job and when that tune came on some years ago they argued with me that the devil's fiddleing was the best. I bet you do in 1814 we took a little trip too, no?

Boo,

You have to get those eyeglasses fixed--it's Gary--not Tony. Here's the lyrics to one of the songs.

What's He Doin' In My World
Eddie Arnold

What's he doin' in my world?
What's he doin' holdin' my world?
If he's not more than just a friend
Why were you kissin' him?
And what's he doin' in my world?

What's he doin' in my world?
Did you tell him that you're my girl?
If your love is really true
Tell him my world's made for two
What's he doin' in my world?

Oh, don't let me keep a wonderin'
Just what you're gonna do
Wondering if the one I love
Loves somebody new...

What's he doin' in my world?
We don't need him in our world
So if it's true, he's just a friend
Explain those kisses you gave him
And what's he doin' in my world?
(What's he doin' in my world?)

Boo,

I believe the other one is an Eddie Arnold song as well, but the closest match is this one.

Turn This World Around

We are all the same it seems
Behind the eyes
Broken promises and dreams
Our good disguise

All we're really looking for is some place
Safe and warm
The shelter of each other in the storm
Maybe one day
We can turn and face our fears
Maybe one day
We can reach out through the tears
After all it's really not that far
To where hope can be found
Maybe one day
We can turn this world around

Who can trace the path of time
Not you or me
The twisting road we call our lives
We cannot see
The hunger and the longing everyone of us
Knows inside
Could be the bridge between us if we try
(Chorus)

Maybe one day
We can turn and face our fears
Maybe one day
We can reach out through the tears

Gary

Gary,

Sorry about that. My name is Anthony so, my brain is Tony oriented.

This is what I'm looking for:

Turn the world around the other way
Why get lost in yesterday
La da de da da
La de de da da
turn the world around the other way

I still need this one. Thanks Gary for the other.

Don get the scanner out would you.
Oh and what about this one. Ilike Eddie Arnold and Jim Reeves did this too.
Welcome To My World.

I know I know I'm supposed to be a jazz guy, but I like to think of myself as a well rounded musician. I do anything that's pretty, swings and or pops with out being noise. Like heavy metal or rap.
