When I make a program sound in my X1 sometimes what happens is that even though the Pianist button is NOT lit, and the arranger is working, the sound still plays across the entire keyboard (including LHS), which is obviously not a good thing.

This evening I was working on a strings Program Sound, made up of 4 sounds from the same source. I had:

sound- strings strings strings strings
octave- -- -12 +12 -24

then on the last page of the editting I had specified that the +12 strings play from C0-G4, and the -24 Strings play from A3-C6.

when I started playing the sound I noticed that again the strings are sounding on the LHS, but not all of them.
After testing it was the +12 strings is the only one playing on the LHS, so to solve the issue I went and changed the keymap from C0 to F2 where my split point is, but if I want to use the strings in Pianist Mode, I will miss the +12 on the LHS.

Can you tell me what is going and why is this happening and how to fix it in a better way than my work around?

Thanks

Mosiqaar,
What you can do is create/edit 2 similar programs, Program1 (string sound starts at where your split point is) and program2 (string sounds goes as far as C1). The only difference will be in the range of the keys you assign under program edit 3/3. This way, when using the LHS with the autoaccomp, you can use program1; when in pianist mode, you can use program2.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
AJ

Well yeah that is a work around but my question is why does this happen?

Why when you do not assign a keymap to the sound in EDIT PROGRAM 3/3 you leave it as

OFF/OFF OFF/OFF OFF/OFF OFF/OFF

then the sounds will mute at LHS if ur in arranger mode and will play if you are in Pianist mode. Then if you assign

C1/C6 OFF/OFF OFF/OFF OFF/OFF

then that first sound does not mute in arranger mode on the LHS?

Is that normal?

Thanks AJ

AJ you never answered my above question. I was ok with the work around until I ran into this scenareo (sp?) a week ago or so.

I was in a wedding party where the drum player was actually the cousin of the groom, so he was going to play with us only sometimes (on and off). Well I had setup registration to get my keyboard into ARRANGER MODE (when I wanted to play alone) with a certain split point. Also another Registration to set my X1 in MANUAL BASS mode (where I used LOWER1 as BASS sound), but the split poitn was different (it was higher up).

So now even though my Strings program (read above) sound ok in arrange mode, when I went to MAN BASS, the split point is different and that string sound is still going to the origianl split point and playing along with my LHS BASS!!!! It was not good to say the least, and one can't expect to have to EDIT their program sounds in the middle of hte party each time they change their split points.

Please check into why this happens on certain sounds (programs) and how to fix it.

Thank you.

Mosiqaar,

We will look into this. In response to your other question above, yes, this is normal.

Thanks,

AJ

Thank you AJ, please let me have a fix asap, because I rely on this PROGRAM (the strings program) in all my music.

Thanks again
