I've been trying to find the Logitech Z-2200 Ultra High Power THX Certified 3 Piece Speaker System - 200 WATT RMS, but every place I order them from cannot get them and they tell me they are no longer available from the supplier!!

Well, I'll be durn, I could've already bought the dang thing but I had no idea that would happen. Someone was going to buy it for me for a Christmas present this month. I'd sure like to have it but I guess only at that $58 net price.

I just received mine 2 days ago through Dell... $120 something. The $50 rebate is good till the end of October. Many places are out of stock, so if you order on line, make sure you call and check.

Whats the difference between the Logitech Z-2200 and the Logitech Z-2300 ?

The specs look similar and the Z-2300's are offered for $104.00

According to Dell, they don't have any more. I just spent ten agonizing minutes on there with some lady from India. I could not understand her. Both her accent and a crappy overseas connection. I finally said "I cannot understand you. Just say NO, we do not have them." Finally got that much. NO, we do not have them. Then she tried to sell me something else. Nope. Gotta be 2200.

The Z-2200 has the $50 rebate if you purchase the item before end of Oct. I guess they are switching to the new Z-2300.

From that announcement: The (2300) is of course based on the Z2200 with the bigger difference being a aluminum black coating. Is that it?

From the specification sheet, the 2300 is essentallly a 2200 with different cases for the satellite speakers. Bottom line is they system really performs well, at least with the PSR-2000, 3000, Tyros and a few other boards that have been used with these speakers. I've only used them on two jobs so far, but, I can unequivocally state that everyone loved the sound, the dancefloor stayed packed and I'm really happy with the setup for small to mid-size venues of 60 or less people. Donny Pesce has used them with audiences up to nearly 100 and also had nothing but good comments.

I sincerely believe part of the success is placing the satellites on stands, plus spending time EQing the keyboard. I guess my next project will involve the 500-watt system with 5 satellites and see how close that gets to Dave's Bose system. However, that's a project for after the Bossier City, LA trip.

My first time on this board. I got here because I was searching for reviews (evaluations) of the Z-2300's. I didn't find any, I guess because they were just released. I just bought a set from Dell, and my first reaction was very pleasant. My old speakers were JBL Pro's, provided with the Compaq Presario 5240 which I bought in 1999.

However, I think that my expectations were set quite high because of the rave reviews I found everywhere for the Z-2200's. Many folks said they were as good as their main stereo system speakers.

I've only had the speakers for less than a week, so my initial impressions are just that, but here goes:

I listen to mostly classical and a little jazz. For the price, I'm very satisfied.
But...

The high end is for me a little shrill. The mids are not as robust as I like. The bass I find slightly boomy at certain pitches, and the double bass (instrument) at its lower notes is not as clear as I would like. There is not as much stereo separation and depth as I would like.

It's probably true that I would need to spend $300 or more to get the sound I desire.

Does anyone have a suggestion for higher performing speakers that might suit my tastes?

I bought TONS of golf stuff from them two to three years ago and it was always A-1 service but it's been that long. I probably made twenty purchases, easy.

Getting the rebate is obviously crucial for the bargain. But unless they go belly up (and I have no indication they will), I guess they have to pay.

I am buying mine at Amazon.com and still waiting for arrival. After rebate, the price would be $ 52.99.

Logitech offers the rebate directly from them. Just go to the website and download the $50 rebate form.

I just got the Z2200's a week ago and they were great with my KN7000 playing against a 12 piece band,in a 75x100 hall.I put the speakers on cheap music stands as suggested. The bass was at 1/2 and the overall volume was 1/2 to 2/3.

Gary Diamond is trying to design a setup using the newer Model Logitech Z5300 5.1 utilizing all Five Speakers should be interesting!

I can't imagine any way that the stereo outs from the kb can be enhanced by a 5.1 system. Unless there is a synthetic separation ..... and then, it would most likely produce an unnatural sound. More electronic than acoustic.

A quick comment guys -

I have had my Z2200 speakers for about 5 weeks and I really enjoy them. I haven't used them at any kind of a gig yet - but I am really happy with them. HOWEVER, I sent my rebate forms in about 7 days ago - I received an email today saying "sorry" but your rebate form was not postmarked within the required rebate period. Hmmmm, the form says "August 1, 2004 through October 31, 2004". Don't know what's up with that !! If anyone else has the same experience please let me know.

Mine says 30 days from date of purchase. But if I got that, I'd raise some hell until I got it. Saying it's not clear. Keep raising hell.

If I remember correctly, the rebate form has to be sent in within 30 of the purchase date.

Most rebates must be claimed within 30 days of the purchase, and also have a specific deadline if purchased less than 30 days prior to the deadline date. I had some problem with Buy.com, finally raised enough hell and they took care of the rebate. I strongly suggest that anyone doing business with them make a backup copy of your rebate form, reciept and bar code tag. That's what saved my butt, plus I sent it registrered mail to boot.

Uncle Dave, if the 5.1 does not work with the keyhoard, I'll hook it up to the TV in the family room. However, I sincerely believe it will be awesome!

I'm just thinking that there is no 5.1 encoding. No separation between front and back, center etc ....

I got a pair from Amazon, which was probably
one of the last brand new ones offered with
the new rebate(til Dec.31st,2004).
The box was beat up, but the speakers seem
OK. What concerns me is that it was obviously repacked since the power cord was
not even properly tied with the twist tab.
The only documentation inside, was a small
pamphlet which states a limted warranty against significant in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years.
Is this all you get? Please let me know
if there are any other documents that came
with your Z-2200s.
