Hello all,

I received some of the demo songs from the new Genesys keyboard. Craig (eyrec) was nice enough to email the .mp3's so I went ahead and converted one to streaming audio (.asf style)(Windows Media Player) and posted it on a temp web site here at work (no links please).

http://genny.lib.umn.edu

It's called MoonDemo. Give a listen and post some comments. I'll get some more up later this week.

Oops...My fault....Give me a minute to change the server name and reboot.

It's working for me since I'm right here and there is no name-resolve going on. That's not the case for you folks.

Thanks for the quick note.

Mike,
It's working fine now and the 128kb sounds great.

Craig...(sorry got my players mixed up)
Nice board, the piece very creative, and played absolutely great on your part.

Thanks Mike for posting this and any more for me. I wish Gem would get off their rears and put these onto their web site instead of those others. If any Gem representitive comes on Synthzone, please take note and get your sites demos changed to the ones that come on the CD with any Genesys purchase. If you wish people to buy a Genesys, surely common sense says put the best MP3 demos on a manufacturers web site.

I really liked the introduction and the trumpet sounded beautiful. I am looking forward to try this keyboard. I am wondering if there is any ballad styles in it.

There are loads of excellent ballad styles in it and there is also a music library facility on board similar to whats in the VA7 range. You can see names of suggested songs already stored, press the button on the name and the correct style and suggested sounds are automatically loaded straight away. You can edit these suggestions and use them as your own presets. There are also 262 songs that come on a CD (midi format with lyrics) and 10 songs in MP3 format for you to play around with. You get 2 CD's and even a microphone free with the Genesys. The microphone is very good and I've spent ages messing around with the vocaliser which produces superb results. It is certainly on par with the one in the Ketron SD1 which I thought was good.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I've posted the rest of the Genesys demos.

http://genny.lib.umn.edu

The web page is ugly (I know), I'll tidy it up a bit this afternoon maybe.

Enjoy!

Eyrec/msutliff,

I can't get the demo's to play (Windows media player)It buffers to 44% or so, then plays for about 2 seconds (if that), that cuts off and re-buffers, and same again . Quite frustrating more than owt else really. Anyone else had this prob?

Tony

Hi there. I have no problems accessing any of the demos and have had very good feedback via e-mail. Are you on a 56k connection? Have you tried the lowest streaming setting?
If you still have probs, e-mail me and tell me what type of music styles you'd like to here and I'll e-mail you the demo myself. Hope that helps, Craig

Created some links to 28.8Kbps streams.

Got a few emails saying folks couldn't connect at the higher speeds.

Give this a try and let me know.
