Yea, now that you mention it - they do look like eyes! It also looks like they elinated the numeric keypad for entering data? I wonder if it'll take a hard drive? That would be a big plus.

No hard drive, I'm told. It also has a huge ac adapter, and NOT a regular power cable - yuk.

Music products is just a sibling of Synthplanet. I called them about the 2000 and the guy said they don't even have a clue when they'll be available. Month's so he talked. I thought I was hot on the trail of someone besides Synthplanet for good overseas prices, but the internet address they (Pien's) sent me back was just Synthplanet again. Everything I tried to order from them was out of stock.

George Kaye already told us here that the PSR2000 won't be released in the US before October this year. I doubt it'll be available anywhere before then. He also said it probably won't accomodate a hard drive. I sure wish that wasn't true. We won't know for sure until the official specs are released by Yamaha.

I keep telling you guys, that when Yamaha announces a new keyboard it's usually in the area of a year before we can buy one. This one may be different, but don't hold your breath waiting.

Uncle Dave,
That just means that huge, heavy power supply
is not inside the keyboard adding to the waight like in the 9000. Also if something happens to the power supply they can easly be replaced.
Cheers,
Nobby

Guys,
Yamaha mailed out to their dealers a new catalog with full specs, prices and pictures of all the new products for Summer 2001. The PSR2000 is in this catalog. There is no hard drive option and the power supply will be the same as the PSR740, the PA-6. It will be available the last quarter of this year. One of the new features in this keybord is the ability to see music and lyrics in the screen. Like the Roland KF90, any two tracks from a smf can be seen on the screen. The Retail price is $1495.00 which is just $100.00 more than the current retail price of the PSR740. Again Yamaha has given you a lot of bang for the buck. Although this keyboard has a display and system like the 9000 series, there is still 64 note polyphony.

George, sounds very interesting. If it retains the great sounds of the 740/9000 and includes those new features, it should be a killer at that price point. I wonder if the mic input is better. Also hope they let you assign harmonizer bypass to the footswitch.
