I am trying to use the korg x5d as an external sound source to record tracks on the mpc2000. I am not able to get 2000 to recognize it. Is it possible, or am i not doing something right. I'm kinda new at this so please bear with me.

all help is appreciated

Okay. midi in on mpc to midi out on x5d.
midi out on mpc to midi in on x5d.
on the main screen move cursor down
to drum and set it to midi. move the
cursor over one click and set it to
1A go to program and select preset 1- 128. Record your parts using ither pads
or keys. change the track and turn 1A
to 2a. since you only have 1 instrument
use midi in 1 and midi out a.
