1st. and formost , what are the exact improvments in 1.20

1 thing i heard is it allows for new musicfinder online access, and that yamaha will give you the usb device(can someone send me the link)

2nd of all can someone let me know which files to install and how, it seemed a little confusing on that page.

thank you

I'm so sorry to be such a novice when it comes to this, part of it is fear in messing up the current firmware.

bet can tell me how to down load this, there seems to be a bunch of pdf's are they the actual firmware file or is one of the others the right one to put onto the thumb drive

can someone please walk me through it step by step

Mikey,
Download the PDF's and read them. they will give you the information that you need. Incidentally the one that says 5 (or is it 6) PDF's has two updates instructions (1.20 and 1.30). you only want the 1.30 one. Also some of the others are in different languages.
The actual update program is not a PDF file.

Mikey,
basically you have to:
1- unzip the files contained in the .zip file
2- connect your Tyros 2 to your PC, then copy the files you have unzipped to the root directory of the Tyros 2 hard disk
3- switch the Tyros 2 off, then switch it on again while at the same time pressing the Start/Stop button (in the Style Control section)
4- keep pressing the Start/Stop button until a display appears, then simply follow the instructions given by the display.

Good luck!

Andrea,

Tiny correction : The files should be placed into the Root of an USB stick. (NOT the harddisk)

Mikey,
I haven't used the Music Finder (actually I never use it because I like registrations more) but from what I have read it has now the ability to give new informations on the songs listed... but only if you use it while connected to the Internet!

Seems to me this update really doesn't benefit the player as much as it gives Yamaha an opportunity to sell the consumer more of their downloadable products.

i understand that it may be an outlet to sell you stuff but the video promo seemed to make the music finder plus a helpful resource and from what i read that service is a free one.

If i have my facts mixed up, please inform me
and i'll forget about this service and move on to something else.

My review is coming soon on this great keyboard, i'm recovering from oral surgery, I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth out on tuesday and unless thaey grow back and make me smarter I never want to experience anything like that again. sorry to get off track there
but was looking for some forum sympathy...lol

I love this forum so much, i've met so met wonderful people on here. I am so thrilled to meet a group of friends that are better than any tech support agent on the planet.

God Bless,
Mikey
