Donny,
I have your 3k reserved. You'll have it as soon as anyone in the US. My Yamaha contact came through for me.

"I would expect some new styles that use the new mega voices on the PSR3000."

When the PSR2100 came out there were a few new styles, but NONE of them used the new voices......................Do they ever learn? Do they really listen?

They don't need to listen because everyone went out and bought it anyway regardless of the new styles or lack of.

They know that they will sell their boards because most of us want the latest and greatest and will keep on trading up and up.

If anyone needs to learn it is the consumer not the manufacturer. You can't blame them either. They will keep on doing just enough to sell that next board and still keep us wanting more. If we as customers learned to vote with our wallets they would change their ways soon enough. BUT I bet we don't learn for a very, very long time.

Just the way of the world. Supply and demand, profit and loss. Not worth getting steamed up about.

In fact I am as guilty as anyone else. I change boards on a whim. Don't really care if I am being fleeced either as long as I get what I want. I'm happy, they are happy it's called capitalism. All part of the game. If you don't want to play then don't pay.

Best wishes
Tony

PS Can't wait to see what the new 3000 is like.

A correction: The PSR2100 has about 20 new styles. These styles do incorporate many of the new voices. The big, big problem is that the old styles - the 160 styles that are from the PSR2000 have the same old voices. I agree with the rest of everyone's gripe about Yamaha.

Does anyone else, by the way, have a problem with how Yamaha has switched the position of the sequencer buttons and the style selection buttons on the PSR3000? I do. On the PSR2100, PSR2000, and PSR740, the style buttons have always been the closest to the keyboard and the sequencer farther away. This is the way it should be. Now with the PSR3000, you have to reach farther away to call up the next style. Definitely a bad design.

In the dealer new product catalog Yamaha sent to dealers Yamaha says that besides all the Tyros styles there will also be some styles specifically geard towards Praise (Church) music.

I've deside that if it sounds even tiny bit better than 2k and is as easy to use, I will get one.

I'm specially looking forward to hear guitars, piano and strings sounds. Styles will be also very interesting to try as there should be Tyros styles + few more.

That's interesting and a welcome addition.
Someone told me that GEM had also introduced some styles along this line.

I have recently connected a PSR2000 here that I have on loan into my surround sound system (Philips) and the sounds are so rich and full. I love the sax...

What do you feel will happen to Tyros prices once the 3000 hits the market? Tumble? I noticed that one online dealer currently has them advertised at $2495 US.

I don't believe the introducton of the 3000 will affect the price of a new Tyros much.
However, the Tyros is certainly nearing the end of it's run, so often Yamaha reduces prices to close out inventory to prepare for the next flagship model.
I expect the 3000 to be a really nice keyboard, but the Tyros offers many things that the 3K will not have, including build quality, key feel, display, hard drive, lighted buttons (I find them very useful in dark environments), more processors for e.q. and effects, etc.

I predict the new Tyros (Tyros Plus, Tyros II or Tyros B) will have organ modeling (I assume it doesn't have it now). This is a switch in marketing practices. Usually the flag ship has the new technology (ex. mega voices) and the next release has that technology moved down to its next lower model (Ex. 2100). The PSR450 has new voices before the PSR550 got them. Hmmmmm.
