A question to the Korg Pa1x owners:

Recently Korg has announced the OS update which supports multi-pads playing more than single sounds.

Has anyone experimented with those yet?

Are you finding them musically useful?

Do multipads play MIDI sequences or audio snippets or both?

Are they able to transpose to stay in key with the chord played?

How about the ability to continuously loop and stop on demand (like Yamaha)?

Thank you,
Alex

Alex,
I have installed version 2.0 software at my store and yes they do everything the Yamaha multi pads can do. There is a catagory called sequence when you go into the pad edit screen. There you will find catagories called "guitar", "brass", "solo", "orchestra" and many more. If you choose "solo" for instance and choose "banjo" you will hear a looped bluegrass banjo riff which continues until you hit the "stop" button. As you change chords, the banjo pattern moves with you. There is also a "user" catagory where you can sequence your own "riffs".
