Has Yamaha implemented an upgrade that allows you to access subsequent menus by repeatedly pushing the group button? It's a distraction to select a style group (left handed)and then have to switch hands and reach over to the screen to page through the levels of that folder. The 9kPRO fixed this after it's inception, so did the PA80 ..... I was hoping that the newest products would have learned from past successes.
So, what DOES the new update for the Ty do?

Hi Dave,
the most important improvement is the USB-Storage Mode.

If you switch the TYROS on while pressing the [MUSIC FINDER] button, in your Windows System the TYROS-HD will be mounted as a new local device. That allows much faster file transmission between Computer and TYROS.

Still, something is missing of the current OS update. Where is the fingered pro mode and the screensaver? Even some other things are missing.

Yamaha should make their products ready before they start selling them. Because of this, the TYROS will be my last Yamaha product or if something new comes out, I will buy it something like a year after the release, when the software is ready.

In defense of the company:
I think the software is the BEST part about Yamaha kbs. They are so easy to navigate, and they generally do what they should. It's the casings, and the keys that fall short of my desires.
Has anyone played that new Casio 3000 yet? Now THAT has a good, solid key feel, as well as Digital card storage (SD?). $299 street price. Makes you think.

The piano sample in that $300 CASIO is better than the Korg Triton.
(no stretch there)
