Hi DNJ, have you already heard these speakers?
They offer a decent sound but to be honest and for the money the Logitech Z5500 or similar sound far better. I purchased the speaker system with my T2 and sent them back for a refund within a week as I found that connecting the T2 to my PC and coming out of the Logitech's gave more depth and warmth.
I'd shop around first m8 before parting with your cash.

Hey I paid $199 for my set and rather or not they are the best...They are the system that mounts onto and looks good on the T2. Nevermind the fact they sound good. I'm hangin' onto mine. But as the voice of balance so far...I think you will like them.

I have the 3pc Ms50's (black ) that I use for my Lt on my desk.....but aside form my big PA speakers I wanted a tiny easy to use & hook up system with the brackets for very small intimate cocktail hours....I'll probably swap out the satelites for Bose 161's also..

The Tyros2 TRS-MS02 Speaker System, swapping the TRS-MS02 satellites with a pair of Bose 161's (which can be mounted to the T2 satellite brackets to sit & swivel 180 degrees on the Tyros2 keyboard itself) make this setup (imo) the "best sounding" compact lightweight PA system for Tyros2, with the Bose 161's able to conveniently plug into the satellite speakers output jacks (L/R) at respective ends of the kb. I found the TRS-MS02 stock satellite speakers harsh & brash sounding with no mid range presence. The Bose 161's on the other hand not only have a decent sounding mid range, but the upper & mids are impressively smooth as well, critical, especially for vocals.

I think this is a very clean pro looking setup: no need to string extraneous wires from satellites to sub unit. I recommend & think the black version of the Bose 161's look best, as they nicely compliment the T2's black screen. In addition, I mounted a handle atop the T2 subwoofer box, making this setup 'light as a feather', and grab and go. Setup time. 20 seconds. - Scott

Scott thanx for the info........it should be a great small go to system for many uses eg: intimate cocktail hour, small wedding ceremony, times when you have to play 1hr in another room or out on the deck of a banquet hall & you can leave the big PA setup in the larger room for the reception, small nursing home shows, house party, etc, etc, .........plug & play oh yeah
My only concern is the wiring in the rear....vs a jack?

Good thing, cuz I don't think the TRS-MS01's are what you wanted anyway. If you want to mount satellite spkrs atop your T2 (including 180 degree turn T2 specific quick release satellite spkr mounting brackts) and plug spkrs directly into your T2, you're gonna need the TRS-MS02's.

The only real difference is that the 01's and 02's come with DIFFERENT satellite speaker mounting brackets. The MS01 mounting brackets won't work on T2. I suppose you could buy the MS01's, but you'd then need to purchase the 02's mounting brackets (from Yamaha USA parts), of which would set you back another $88.

I just ordered a Z-2300 for the Tyros 2 for practice purpose., but I really like how the Yamaha TRSMS02 fit on the Tyros2.

How does the sound compare? Does the Yammy set-up sound better than the Logitechs?

The Logitechs are about $110 shipped, it's more than half, so all things considered

Thanks

imo, though the Logitech deliver impressive bass, it's satellite speakers lack adequate mid-range presence, particularly important for vocals, and the reason I returned the Logitech system when I initially purchased it for my Tyros1 keyboard. The Yamaha TRS-MS02 system, on the other hand provides both adequate bass & better mid range response, but more importantly, able to mount directly atop Tyros2 and conveniently plug directly into the back of Tyros2, eliminating extraneous wiring & satellite speaker mounting/placement that the Logitech system requires. The problem I find with the TRS-MS02 satellite speakers is that they sound too brash (harsh & grating) and quickly become fatiguing (at least to my ears). The Bose 161's on the other hand deliver vastly improved mid frequencies & much smoother frequency response to boot. This system provides the 'best sounding' portable quick & EZ setup sound system for Tyros2 in my opinion suitable for small venues. - Scott

I'll agree with all that Scott is saying above ...I also had the Z2200's & there was hardly any midrange for vocals & too much boomy bass....

Just to be sure I just played 3 small gigs with just the T2 & the Yamaha MS50 speakers w/sub (black older version) just to be sure it could do the job.....I'll tell ya, I was impressed & in a small situation with 25-75 people it covered nicely, a little EQ goes a long way .......with that said ...

I went ahead & ordered a Set of TYROS TRS M02 speakersw/sub from SZ Member/Dealer George Kaye who gave me a nice deal.......if your interested in gear give him a shout he'll do you right, he even called me to chat about it also,
great honest dealer !!
Im impressed with the ease of hook up/brackets and the sound is very very usuable for sure...
Down the road I would love to A/B the T2 Satlites with the Bose 161's as per Scotts recomendation also just to settle my curiosity.
