Dnj,

Very nice indeed. But, what exactly am I listening to? Are these mp3's, Styles, Wav's?

Are all these sounds coming out of the arranger via midi styles?

I believe its a Mix of all the features of the MIDJAY recorded together, the mix & match possibilties between playing styles, live vocals, smf, wav,mp3,sfx are endless...I was amazed when I saw the DEMO! It can possibly make my life easier on stage & is worth a shot....

The only drawback for me about the midjay (and it is a big one), is the inability for a user to create styles on the unit.

Also, it would have been great if one could import sound samples to get additional sounds on the unit.

That would make it the ultimate module with size weight and features. And it could be customized to the personal preference of a user.

I'm prety sure that this in an mp3 of just the wave demo's from the midijay.

I had a look at the unit and it's internal sounds are just like the SD1 and XD - If I used SMFs or MP3s it would be a good unit but I prefer my XD3 module as it is far easier to control the arranger functions in a live environment. Mind you, it's a really neat size and sounds all the more impressive in the "flesh"

Why not just create/edit styles on your PC in a style editor program then load them in the Midjay to play.

The Midjay was created for a specific type of player in mind....if you dont use smf/mp3/wav....then this unit wouldn't be for you....but for what I do on stage its beyond pefect

In addition to affording 'keyboard players' the flexibility to connect whatever controller (61, 76, 88 keys, or otherwise) they choose, the Midjay sounds like the idea smf/mp3/wav playback solution for 'karaoke singers' who aren't keyboard players at all. This will not only eliminate having to hauling around keys (extra weight) , but karaoke singers will no longer have to feel like they're having to fake (pretend) to be playing the keys, just because it was there. As a result, this will hopefully re-legitimize & re-gain the respect of arranger keyboard players who actually do play their arranger keyboard live in auto-accomp or solo keyboard modes. - Scott
