I have just checked the prices for X1 and SD-1 in Europe (synthplanet.com) and
I was surprised that X1 = $1906.02 while SD-1 = $1732.74 ???
Is the X1 really better then SD-1 or it's just more popular on the market ?
What about the US market ?

The SD1 is far more expensive than X1, at
least here in Europe.

In example new ones priced here in Norway:

you are right and the difference is even more striking when you consider the price of the X1 with hard disk ($ 2223,05); what is really odd is that the same X1 with hard disk AND vocalist is listed at $ 2086,99 (!!!).
So, either there is a mistake, or there is an odd marketing strategy behind these "crazy" prices (but the price for the SD1 is tempting indeed!)

I think Denis is right, I just checked www.synthplanet.com and the SD1 is listed there for US$1732.74 while the X1 is for US$1906.02
BUT, in order to match apple to apple, SD1 should be compared to the X1 with Hard drive (because the SD1 comes already with a built in Hard drive, it’s not an option).
The price for the X1 with HD is even more expensive US$2223.05
Does the absence of speakers in the SD1 have to do anything with the lower price?

Majed , you are wrigth about the speakers , and do not forget that they have to have a nice amplifier to drive the speakers. So every little thing adds up.
Denis , I have a friend who is letting his X1 Oriental go, with Hard drive and tons of Arabic, Armenian, Persian, Turkish styles on board and in the hard drive, E-mail me if you are interesred..

You need to ring and speak to synthplanet themselves to give you the answer to your questions. they list thousands of prices that are not necessarily up-to-date.

I have talked with Sythplanet and prices are quite accurate.
The only problem is that they don't have SD-1 currently in stock and you have to wait until it arrives. They told me that for SD-1 they can not estimate how long you have to wait because there is so many people on the waiting list but they still accept orders for the price that I have mentioned above(US$1732).
I think that SD-1 is quite specific case because there is no so many Ketron dealers all around the world so you have to wait for your turn to get the SD-1. It makes sense.
On the other hand PA80 is available in 10-15 days and its price is US1247.
