Hi Rich

Loved your songs, and you have a wonderful voice! Alas you are at the other end of our beautiful country or I would be constantly harrasing you to sing on my recordings!

I too love 'I Remember You' but always expect to hear the song from the film 'For the Boys' (Bette Midler) rather than the Elvis song.

Very best wishes to you
Tony

Thanks Donny! I'm just about to head off to your site...

Edit: You've picked some beauties there... your voice really suits them too. Love it!

Tony, much appreciated! Glad to hear you love that song also

All the best,
Rich

Thanks Don! I've just had a very enjoyable time listening to the songs I hadn't yet heard, at your website. Great stuff. Good to hear 'Silver Wings' again too...

All the best,

I was listening through an old DAT today and thought you may like to hear a song I recorded with the Roland E-86 back in 1995... El Cumbanchero.
http://richmusic.co.uk

There are other bits and pieces on this tape, I'll upload some more stuff over the next few days...

They're all 'test' recordings made on the fly... I think I was actually testing the DAT recorder out at the time.

Hope you enjoy it!

All the best,
Rich

Rich,

Thanks. Very graceful voice and nice performance. I am wondering if you based your arrangements on the original midi sequences or you had to do everything from scratch.

Hi sk880user, here's the info, working from the top of my webpage to the bottom:

If: This is a midi file I purchased back in 1994... soon after I bought the E-86 in late 1993. The harmony vocal I added on a separate track.

Runaway: as above... I had an idea about how I wanted the harmony to sound while recording the lead vocal.

He'll Have To Go: This was made with a BIAB style, I had to add some keyboard to produce a suitable intro.

Someone, Someone: Another BIAB style, I can't remember adding anything to this. I'd never actually heard the song before 2002. A friend asked me to record it, it was a record of her father's she enjoyed as a child.

Unchained Melody: Midi file found on the 'net, tweaked in Cakewalk for the SC-880.

Blueberry Hill: Another BIAB style, but I used only drums and bass, adding the keys myself.

You're Sixteen: Another 1994 midi file purchase, played via the E-86.

Dream Lover: Ditto

El Cumbanchero: E-86 style.

I'll Remember You: Drums and bass from a Roland PRO-E, other instruments played from a Roland D-70. This arrangement is similar to the one on Elvis' 'The 60s Masters'.

Relax: The only thing automated on this track is the drums, when the style cuts in (provided by the PRO-E).

I hope this answers your query... if not, or you have any other questions, just give me a shout.

All the best,
Rich

I've just posted a new song on my site:
http://richmusic.co.uk

'And I Love You So'

The backing is another BIAB creation, bar for the piano, which I played myself.

It's been a while since I've recorded, but hopefully this will be the first of a new batch of songs.

I hope you enjoy it.

All the best,
Rich
