My mic which is an oktiva 219 went out on me. I went to the GC for a new one. I was going to get the Oktiva 318 for $99, however, the guy talked me into a Rode nt1-a for $199. I would really like the Rode 1000 but that's $299 and would end up in my strangulation by my wife... Anyway got the Rode NT1-a. Does anyone have any experience with this mic???
Thanks,
DJ

Well I played around with it for about 4 hours and could not get a sound I liked... GC will not take back mics... SO you better take it back quick or your stuck with it.

GC will take back microphones but it really depends on what type of customer you are and who the manager is at the particular store. The reason GC adopted their "no return" mic policy is that there were too many people buying a microphone only to use it on a project and then return it. Call it a free mic rental if you will. Eventually GC caught on to these unscrupulous people and they caused a change in policy ruining it for everyone else.
