Hi

Just ordered the Tyros 2 with 512 Mb Ram And 60 Gb harddisk for 3300 Euro. I'll keep my G-70, then I can defende two keyboards in this forum.

Nielshs, just sold my G70, never give in to the dark side, and always defend the G70. By the way I had ordered a Tyros 2 also.

Roel,

I think the Tyros 2 is the best choise for dinner music, it has a softer sound as the G-70. I will use the G-70 for other purpose, SMF playback e.g.

HansPeter,

No way, I still think the G-70 is the best Keyboard compared to other brands. I think the Tyros 2 is a good second choice. BTW you got a Tyros youself, right?

Regards Niels

Hallo Niels,
thats right and I never said something against the Tyros. But I play it via midi per G-70 (VA 76 before). For this and many other reasons the G-70 is my number one.
Greetings

nielshs, what 60GB hard drive is fitted into your Tyros 2 (7200 or 5400)?
I'm shopping around for one to go into mine at the moment, but I'm lost as to getting a 5400 or 7200. Personally I can't see a 7200 making much difference, other than they cost far more. Any advice appreciated.

Hi Craig
It basically effects read and write speed to the drive, (Although there are other factors that affect this) however unless you are recording multiple wave files simultaneously, overdubbing wave files a lot, (Time discrepancies creep in after about 4 overdubs anyway) Streaming sounds direct from the hard drive (A la Giga Samples) or moving large files then you will probably not notice much difference, so go for the cheaper 5400 but make sure it has an 8Mb buffer built in.
If your interested in speed difference, then when I changed the hard drive in my Wersi Abacus from a 5400 to a 7200 the boot up time reduced by about 20%.
Hope this helps.

Bill
