hey rikki, nsw..the dealer i am talking about is gospel pianos, as far as i can find out they are the only ketron importer/distributor in Oz..its really tough coz the 3000 is really good, and i have it linked up with a laptop and a yamaha S90es, so the sound quality is really super, but the other features of the MJ make it appealing like HDD, being able to use live drums loops in conjunction with midi files, audio/mp3...and it especially hard when you cant do a hands on A/B comparison..

just a further question to DNJ, can you give me your opinion of just the drums between MJ and PSR3000?

The Biggest strenght on the Midjay is the drums....The biggest weakness on the PSR3000, is the drums..

Hi Dennis,
I thought maybe you'd found another dealer in another state.
I dealt with the manager Warick, met him thru Technics years back.
Gave us a good deal on the SD1 plus. So bear in mind HAGGLE if you opt for a midjay.

Had a good price on a psr3k through Allan's in Sydney. Only problem was they couldn't get stock at the time, so I started browsing the net for options & discovered that Gospel was a Ketron dealer.

I must admit I'm very happy with the sd. I luv the drums. Really wrapped that I can replace drum 2 with audio drum loops in the styles.

One thing to bear in mind though, the midjay doesn't have style creation functions, but it does apparently load SD1 styles.
I was going to use EMC's style convert program for style editing etc had I bought a Midjay.I opted for the sd1+ instead as I didn't really need some of the performance features the midjay had, and the midjay didn't have some of the functions the sd1+ had.
You can download the midjay manual from the ketron site http://www.ketron.it/home/

Trying to compare a midjay to a psr , is not really comparing apples with apples, one's an arranger keyboard, the other has niche of it's own ( and I'm not reffering to the fact that it's a module). Really depends on your needs.

best wishes
Rikki
