With the recent news that the Technics KN7000 may be premiered at the upcoming Musik Messe show in Frankfurt, Germany(March 13 - 17), I thought it might be fun to predict what new features & enhancements it will include as well as share our thoughts on what we think the KN7000 should include. Please read my thread on the Synthzone Technics forum and give your input too.

The screen will be enhanced for one .
You will be able to put your own digital image in the screen ! Maybe a picture of something from someone's attic ?
I'll try to find out more ........dano

Hi DanO,
Believe it or not, the KN5000 already includes a hidden secret (not commonly known) feature which allows you to create/play back a 'slide show' collection of pictures (along with the music too). A friend of mine in Germany made me this cool :ccol: slide show presentation which includes 6-7 pics of his family (along with music playing) which displays on the KN5000's color LCD screen. AS I recall, the slide show is accessed/played in the KN5000's 'Feature Presentation' mode. He told me how I could create my own slide show of pics (please don't ask, I can't remember now) , but I never found the time to do it.

It will be really interesting to find out what 'new' digital image features will be offered on the KN7000. Personally, I really don't know how practical this feature is though. I'd rather Technics focus on more important features like the ones I outlined in my KN7000 wishlist thread. Guess I'd better go check to see if my painting has changed any today

Hi all.
My kn6000 already allows you to put your (or any other) image on the screen. You can also change the wallpaper rather like on a pc....I think you can do that on the 5000 can't you Scott? I can't remember. I did once put my picture on screen but it was a little disconcerting to see myself gazing back whilst I was trying to play. I kept thinking how much like Kim Novak I looked.....well in a good light and with the contrast turned right down

Hello Scott

It should be really interesting to see what new and interesting features the 7000 will have I predict a APC to SMF conversion button
The new PR's have this. You can also convert your regular technics files to SMF.

what a SMART idea

As I mentioned on my KN7000 wishlist,
http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum25/HTML/000381.html

I think the Smart Media approach (aka 128 mg compact flash memory) approach would be a great move. It would allow us to easily & quickly move data back/forth between our computer/keyboard and provide quick instant loading of MANY MANY songs & styles. No moving parts to break down either.

I hope the KN7000 stays under 35 lbs. The compact flash approach (instead of hard drive) might help to keep the weight down too.

Untill I hear and play something better then the PSR9000 I'll keep both of mine for sure. Yes I mentaly stray from time to time but the bottom line is what I sound like with MY Tools and my kind of performing. IMHO its the best all in one unit I've played so far. But in the future....Who Know Whats Coming?

If anything could make me go back to Technics, it would be Yamaha.
That, and a standard hard drive, mic input and harmonizer that were actually useable.
They've always had good styles and sounds.
OS has to be in Flash Rom. And they have to prove it.

Hi Kmac, the 6000 already had a apc to smf button, so that's bound to stay.

check out http://www.keynotepublications.com/ for plenty of slideshows, but you need a 6000 or 6500 to see and hear them (you don't need a keyboard to watch one of the shows at http://home.c2i.net/gjgotaas/ on the select a 6000 page).

Technics Japan did a brilliant slide show of a Beethoven piano piece, orchestrated with the score on screen as a slideshow. The score was beautifully clear to read, like a music book really. And of course the pages changed automatically at the right place. The only thing you did not have was a bouncing ball!
