I was lucky enough to play this while in Erie PA a few weeks ago.. Great sounding digital for Casio.. Used many MZ sounds and cleaned them up too. Granted the sequencer isn't the biggest, but it's not too bad. Only thing I can't find on it is whether you can use the pedals for pitchbending.. Still it's a great digital.. Has to be the best one I've seen or played from Casio... The store had a price tag that was over 3 grand...

Now that's a good price DanO... Way better than they had in PA... For $2749.00 it's a heck of a deal... Actually now that I think about it the price they had in PA was like $3850.......

Well how about this, Casio uses Zygotech Polynomial Interpolation for its sounds!!! Anyone heard of this before? But really, 64 note polyphony on a 3 grand keyboard? And most of the voices are only 32 note polyphonic! Still it weights over 60kg!! Still, maybe it sounds great, someone tell me where I can hear some mp3's.....?

hey all,
keep in mind that this is marketed as a 'digital piano'. Even the $3850 price tag is not out of line when matched up against the likes of Yamaha's digital pianos. Add in the Casio's lighted keys (not on any Yammy I've seen) and some of it's other features, and you have a different target market than the folks in this forum.

In contrast, have you checked out prices on 'acoustic' pianos lately - say Yamaha's. A half decent baby grand sells for around $20,000 with a basic upright weighing in at around $6,000. And they have a max of 10 note polyphony - 1 for each finger on your hand !!!!

Regards,
Steve

Simon ,
You took the words right out of my mouth .

This is competeing against the Yamaha Clavinova , Roland KR series ,Technics digitals and a few others .

It is for home use and very effective for getting children involved with making music via the educational light guide .
Yamaha Clavinova and Yamaha EZ30 keyboard also have light guide .
