Thank you all for your replies and ideas! It kinda makes me think that an amp is probably not what I was looking for after all. Especially since it seems that most keyboard amps are the size of a volkswagen and my keyboard is in my small bedroom. I was reading in another thread about the Yamaha MSP5 powered speakers and there was a link to an online shop that sells them in combination with a YST-SW305 self-powered subwoofer for about $700 total. Is that a good price? And more importantly, would you say the MSP5's constitute an upgrade over the already pretty decent PSR-9000 internal speakers? (an upgrade worth shelling out 700 bucks for?)
Thanks again and Happy New Year!

The 9000's speakers are so good ... all they need is a little more separation and a little bottom end "thump". I recommend a good quality three way computer system like the yamaha Ms50 (something like that) Put the speakers a foot or so to the side of the KB speakers and the sub on the floor and you'll hear a HUGE diference. Don't spend $700 .... spend about $200 - it'll sound great !
