Ah, that's great....If I didn't have this all-morning meeting to go to, I'd be attaching Jim's head to Lee Priest's body there, no problem.

Shucks........

Gary,

I think Don could take that topic title and make it into a country or a western song.

tom,

That will be a great project for those of us heading to Bossier City in January.

Here's the 5-minute version. Use any three chords and your imagination. Feel free to edit and improve.

I’m Too Skinny For My Tux

About a year ago I looked into my mirror,
and I didn’t like the guy there looking back.
I also got a warning from the doctor,
but I never had quite learned to trust that quack.
Well I noticed all my friends were making “fat jokes”
and I started getting upset with their barbs.
But a few of them were really being helpful, saying “man you need to cut out all those carbs.”

So I bought a book or two and did some research,
and decided it was time to lose some weight.
I followed all the guidelines and started working out,
and before too long I started looking great!
Slowly then the inches left my waistline,
and my energy returned just like they said.
My wife began to give me little winks again, and it even carried over to our bed!

Everything was going even better than I’d hoped,
and December party time came back around,
I went into the closet for my good old black tuxedo,
and prepared to take my wife out on the town.
As I stuck my skinny legs into the trousers, the awful truth almost knocked me to the floor.
I couldn’t hold the pants up long enough to pull the zipper
and the coat didn’t fit me like before.
[Chorus]
Now I’m too skinny for my tux!
Can you believe that I was really once that size?
The coat was almost big enough for two of me to wear
and the trousers must have been some other guy’s!
Well it’s nine o’clock and the wife is almost ready,
but I have nothing in the closet I can wear.
The only place that’s open now is Walmart, and I don’t remember seeing tuxes there!

Oh I’m too skinny for my tux!
In fact I don’t have anything to wear.
I’ve got a brand new body and I’d like to show it off,
and the whole dilemma isn’t really fair!

Yes I’m too skinny for my tux!
I guess there’s only one way left for me to win.
I’ll stay at home and pig out on potatoes, bread and rice,
‘til I can get my clothes to fit again.

Here's a quick recorded version of Don Mason's lyrics done using Acid Pro-3 and the PSR-3000. Nothin' special about the recording and it's saved in MP3-64 format. Here it is I'm Too Skinny For My Tux

Great job Gary! Of course it's a little too long a song to be commercial and needs some variation in the verses, but . . .
NOT BAD for a quicky from idea to finished recording!

Way ta go Gary!

Congratulation! Very Impressive HEALTHY weight loss & a fun song to match. The great thing about the South Beach Diet is that it initially wasn't even designed specifically for weight loss, but improved CARDIAC HEALTH. The weight loss is merely the side benefit. - Scott

Gary and Don, Nice Job!

The tune is about 5 minutes long.
I'm aerobic-dancing to it.

Keep being creative. As I get into better shape and increase my aerobic minutes,
I'll need more incentive tunes.
