Wow! KN Fan certainly set the forum on fire with this topic, eh?

Well let's add some fuel to it - how did everyone come by their username?

For myself, Big Red comes from the fact that I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs. and used to have red hair (unfortunately it's more of a silver colour now).

For the record I live near Edmonton, Alberta out on the cool, cool prairie.

You'll never guess. What surprises me is that I've never seen this handle elsewhere on the net, considering how many pilots there are. Over 60,000 registered pilots in Canada alone (which is where I'm from - Ontario).

I'm a huge hockey fan, and my favorite player was the great Cam Neely.

OK - simple really!
My Synthzone ID (eddiefromrotherham) came as a result of there already being at least one other Eddie on the list.!
My oscarfan ID is because I am a lifelong fanatic of Oscar Peterson - long before I changed from piano to electronic keyboard.
I even have a Yahoo forum which I created many months ago, which unfortunately still has only one member - yes you guessed, ME.!
My plauderei ID is for our German friends.

cheers

easy .. last name "Madalone" (ancestors from 'Maddaloni, Italy') .... I've always been very active with our children through the years, and my sons high school friends started calling me that when we played softball together... I've also been called Big Tony (6'2", high 200's), and a number of years ago my son nicknamed me Big Dog, as a compliment, ( "if you can't run with the big dogs....") ...
Good thread ....

Well Squeak_D was simple for me.. My real nick name is actually Squeakie, and I get called by that all the time.. Even in college my instructors called me Squeakie. Been called Squeakie for years.. One of those nicknames that I'll never be able to drop.. the Squeak_D part came about with me shortening up Squeakie to just plain Squeak, and the D is for my first name which is Daniel.

Afraid mine is pretty obvious. Don is my first name and M my last initial. I sometimes use Singer because that's what I want to be when I grow up.

Bebop is what I lived, breathed and played for years. I have had this nick name going back to the comm 64 and the first on line service there was in the 80's. I even get snail mail addressed to Bebop and lotsa phone calls for Bebop. I think if I didn't have it written down in my computer address I would forget my name is:
Just Plain Bill. (used to be WILD BILL

One of our unix servers has a program running on it called Starkeeper. I love that name, sounds like "administrator of the universe". Lots of Starkeepers on hot mail.
