Hi Hanspeter,
your point is good, but Niels is claiming about an overall slow down of its G70...and after a formatting operation!, so I think (IMHO) that it is actually a file system problem...
...if it is a bug, Niels has to wait for new software release ...but I've heard that it is not so far

Regards,
Rival

Hi Niels,

I think I've good news for you... in the Mac procedure description for restoring factory data, there is the hidden way to format the internal memory:
you have to power-on the G70 pressing "Top" and "Rec" button 'till you enter in the Internal Media Format environment. Then you can format the internal card pressing User Program 1.
This will solve your problem for sure.

Regards,
Rival

...but did it work?

is your G70 as before?

if it does, the formatting operation using a PC is absolutely a "forbidden" operation!!!

Regards,
bye Rival

Hi,

Thanks for mentioning GEM in your post. A company can offer a terrific product but without excellent product support, the end user really isn't getting the best value for their money.

That being said, in the past when I needed tech support from Roland I usually didn't have a problem other that having to leave my name and number to have a rep call me later that day or the following day.

BTW, being the product support manager for our company my cell phone is never turned off. In fact, I took a call at 8:30pm this past Saturday before Easter from a customer needing help with his Genesys Ensemble. I excused myself from the dinner table and spent 15 minutes with him until his questions were answered.

My apologies to nielshs for breaking in on his thread.

Good Niels...

but did you try to contact the customer care of Roland?
if so, how your experience was?

I've never had contact with them 'cause I'm an atipical 'customer'...(only a tester for a friend of mine who has a musical instrument shop)...but it would be very interesting to know about real approach with their customer care...

happy that all was finally good

Bye,
Rival

Not for nothing but anytime I needed tech help from Korg or Roland, I have never had a problem, they were helpful and quick to respond, actually i would get someone evertime I called
