Today I found time to visit my former Technics Dealer. Jaap van Putten made the audio-files available on the web 2 weeks ago. It was nice to see him after such a long time (I own Solton/Ketron for several years now, so another dealer)
Jaap showed the new KN7000 :
The housing/shape is not what ik like.
The Tonewheel (hammond) samples impressed me very much.
The 'organ'-simulations are nice too.
Most other sounds/styles cannot compete with the SD1's quality..... the overall soundimage is not 'transparant' and it feels like the 'accoustic illusion' effect, once introduced in the KN5k, still is active. (Oh I hated it because of two reasons. One of the speaker-phases was changed AND I had no possibilty to switch it off as a default)
To be extremely honest : A KN3k wearing a new suit and some nice organsounds as an extra. It's way too expensive for 3900 Euro's in my opinion. (I'm sorry Jaap !)
Technics put way too much effort in exterior and almost none in electronics/software improvements.
