For the prices of some of those stand-alone CD burners, you could almost buy a new computer these days. I recently bought Yamaha's newest CD burner, CRW-F1, as an internal unit for my computer for $199 and it is incredibly fast. I can burn an entire CDR in three minutes. It has special settings for audio-mastering and it also has a neat T@2 ("tatoo") feature that let's you burn images and text into the unused space on the data-side of the CDR.
