Could be a resource conflict or a faulty drive. (I assume it’s an internal drive)
Select Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware and then the Device manager button and see if there are any conflicts (Exclamation marks) if so just double click the faulty item, and then select the troubleshoot button which should guide you to the best solution.
If the above fails (Or no exclamation marks show up) uninstall the drivers for all your drives and also the IDE bus, and also any drivers that relate to a network card, then restart the computer and let Windows re-install them, (You may need the original driver discs) hopefully this will solve the problem, if not, then post again with the results of the above operations.
