Some random thoughts...

1) Taike- With the signing of the Lily Ledbetter Fairpay Act early in the Obama Administration, equal pay for equal work is now the law of the land. It won't "really" correct all the inequities overnight, but its the single biggest step th8e Country has taken in sometime.

2) NAFTA is huge in this issue, no question about it. Union leaders, politicians and Corportacracy are also key to the discussion. All sides have behaved poorly and where we find ourselves today is in great part, due to the greed of those groups.

3) A great book to read about one view of this issue is John Perkin's "Confessions of an Economic Hitman."

4) "American Exceptionalism" is an over-used, tired phrase bordering on turning into almost a punchline. The USA is my Country and I love her and will till the day I die. Much the same as people from most other countries feel about theirs. I really wonder if the average person waking up today in North Korea or Afhganistan pines to live in the US? I doubt it.

5) Nice touch, Bill with the Elvis Costello reference...

Exactly, Bill. Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Taike
