Also, it's not uncommon for people to have their ashes spread on the pitch of their beloved football clubs. In fact, Arsenal, out of respect for the families of those whose ashes have been scattered on the pitch over the years, will be taking the top six inches of the playing surface off the current Highbury pitch, where they've played since 1913, and re-laying it at their new stadium in readiness for next season.
