Until you HEAR real, live instruments in a real, live room .... you don't have any idea what they sound like. I don't care how good your stereo is, until you hear an orchestra in an acoustic setting .... you've NEVER heard a violin or anything else acoustic. Paper cones and plastic horns just can't do justice to the fine nuances that these instruments produce ina concert setting.
Do yourself a favor and take in a professional orchestra ...... you'll be amazed at the subtlties that you miss on recordings.

I was so fortunate to have played in the Philadelphia Acadamy of Music as teenager .... it really got me psych'd to further my music education. As a Temple student, we were in there several times with orchestra as well as concert choir, but the REAL treat was hearing the Phildelphia orchestra in there. Man .... that's some good stuff.

All this electronic stuff can cloud your eardrums with compressed, sterile, perfect ( sometimes BORING )sound. Get back to the real source of music whenever you can ... it's good for the soul!
