Setting aside all similarities stated in the original post, the one about the road names is probably the most annoying thing that happens over here... almost EVERY ROAD, (except some central avenues), changes name when you cross every municipality, so your friend living next block 50 feet across the street, probably has a different address...

But that is not all. To add to the insult, even if the road does not change name, when you go to a different municipality the numbering is RESTARTED. The peak of this stupidity is proudly represented in "Pireos ave" that runs from the port of Pireaus to Athens central square. There, the numbering starts from 1, both from Pireaus AND the square, and also resets as you pass throuh municipalities (it is about 7 km long).
