My dad was a Minister and made me attend church (seems like 3 times a day and 4 on sunday) when I was 16 he made me this offer, (on the way to sunday school) Son I know you don't like going to Church, so If you'll promise me you'll never drink or gamble you will not be made to go again. Over 50 years has passed, and I have not ever drank alcohol or even tasted a beer, or gambled. I also never went into a church until the last few years (and then I was Playing music.) I have spent a good part of my life in bars with thousands of drinks setting on top of my guitar amp. (customers didn't know they were buying seven-up for my throat) (I think the bars made my wages and then some from this).also (I probably have the only old Fender dual showman reverb amp head that has original covering with no alcohol stains) he he.

I wish he'd added smoking to that list, but It probably was to late, I had been smoking for about 7 years at that time. (this year will be the 60th anniversary of starting smoking) Nasty habit,people don't want me around anymore, even being a man of my word.he he
