Why does Yamaha allow this? I noticed that in Yamaha's specs they do say the power supply is included. Let the buyer beware!

In the manual which comes with it, it is clearly mentioned - the adapter may not be included in some countries - so I feel you may be living in such a country. I probably feel that your vendor may be right.
