I can confirm that you do indeed set the arp. to "midi", not sure about the "to host" problem(I haven't heard that one). Also remember it syncs to Cubase when its playing, it doesn't know the tempo until you push play (or record) on the sequencer. So when its stopped, the arp. wont play.
