You are correct! Solo and Single are redundant...Maybe it should have been called
Power Solo or Power Single. I didn’t invent the name; it is a result of phrases that have morphed over time.

The power part refers to using accompaniment i.e. midi sequence, performance track, real-time arranger as differentiated from playing acoustically.
