I guess the real question is what is considerd to be a "High End" keyboard. I know that the KN7000 has been kind of set as a standard at the highest end, but with the release of the 2600 there seems to be a new series starting with a lower price. It could just be that Technics has decided that the price of the KN7000 has reached a saturation point and is priced out of the range of most keyboard players.

I believe the only people who would consider the 2600 a "toy" are people who have owned the KN6000-KN7000 keyboards or their competitive equivalents.

Since the KN2600 and the PR54 are actually newer than the KN7000 I don’t believe that
there are plans to just abandon the instrument line, though it may be taking a lower price direction.

Have a Wonderful Holiday Season
And I talk to you all when I get back.
