Good news, charley…

I remember when Opal trashed my area, I was playing a house gig in a club on Destin Harbor with the stage surrounded by glass right on the boardwalk. I went down there the day before landfall to get my gear out (about four keyboards and ancillary gear) and found to my horror that the owners had chained and padlocked the whole place and left the area!

So it had to ride it out (me too, as the roads out were already clogged) and the entire harbor got trashed. I went down to the club the day after the storm, fully expecting to have lost everything, but miracle of miracles, the plate glass walls had held, and everything was high and dry! Most others on the Harbor and other Gulf front venues were not so lucky, and many of my friends lost thousands of dollars of gear.

You never know… Glad you were one of the lucky ones!
