Here's my best guess, not having either keyboard. I'm sure the 2000 can do splits. It designed to be a midi controller keyboaard. You just have to set the midi transmit channel to different numbers for each side of your split. And I'm sure the Genous can also do splits ( and set ranges for the keyboard ) so then match the Genous midi recieve channels to match the send channels of the 2000.
Again just a guess but worth a try.

BTW with a setup like that I wouldn't label it "Poor Man's " laugh
