I talked with Captain Russ this morning, Logan seems to be improving and the docs say that if everything goes as anticipated, he will make a full recovery with no lasting effects of the disease.

He is currently being turned every four hours to help prevent compression sores, which can be a problem with patients that undergo medically induced coma. He is slowly being weened from these medications and Russ says he seems to be responding to conversation, which is great news.

Fortunately, he is constantly being attended by visitors 24/7 who spend days and nights with him at his bedside. This, even while in a comatose condition, though no one can explain it, seems to help speed up the recovery process.

The docs feel he will be in the hospital at least two or more weeks before going home. Once he returns home, he will likely undergo physical therapy at home, then added physical and occupational therapy as a outpatient for a few more months in order to resume normal activities.

All the best,

Gary cool
